Fredrick Douglas was a former slave who had a vision of either African Americans to be separated from slavery. Fredrick didnt settle for ok or what other state called his existence, he pushed for more. At a young jump on he witnessed his aunt being brutally beaten by a master and that is what really sparked his interested in firing himself. He was taught how to read and write by a masters wife and even got their children to sharing their homework with him. Fredrick escaped to revolutionary York and there is where he discovered a paper called the liberator and an article by Mr. Garrison.
Douglas and Garrison got to know distributively other which eventually lead to Douglas publishing some of his thoughts on slavery which people found to be astonishing. The article had exposit of his slave owner and Douglas scared of being caught by him, go forth for Europe. Some of his friends bought his freedom and he was back in New York in two years. When he got back he picked up where he left off.
Douglas over the time became a thoroughly respected man and by the time the civil state of war came around he was asked to scratch blacks to fight for their freedom.
