And is also the central character of the play. the scene takes place in the ?rst half of the play this scene takes place in Macbeth palace this scene is a dark one so is the keep back throughout. ca apply of the scenes usually taking place at night In this scene the hallucination, the dagger and Macbeth going insane gives us a darker effect Lady macbeth was supposed to ring a bell, this is a sign to make macbeth aware that he has to carry off king duncan now. Macbeth is worried and scared of killing the king, he is contemplating with himself that should he do this bad deed or not. He becomes mentally ill and sees a dagger before him - its not rightfully there, its just a hallucination this is the scene where Macbeths weakness is shown- its the rise of the downfall of his fortune. in the previous act, macbeth meets the three witches who tell him that he will become the next king-they dont specify how. Macbeth tells this to his wife maam macbeth- Lady macbeth was very ambitious- she convinces him to kill the king by call into question his manhood. macbeth being a soldier- having killed many people hesitates to kill the king. it wasnt impudently for him to kill somebody.
