Rumi today is a highly notable poet; undoubtedly back in the thirteenth century Rumi was the almost famous writer of the time. Rumi was born north of Afghanistan in a town called Balkh, where he eventually evacuated to Konya where his family settled (Ruud). In Konya, he studied with his acquire for several years, in which he conditioned Muslim Law and Sufism. After years of studying with his father Rumi went to a Muslim university in Konya (Ruud). Educated and respected Rumi was a proud scholar; however Rumi was not yet a poet. In situation Rumi did not become a poet until, he came under the influence of the itinerant dervish Shamsoddin (Shams) Tabrizi (Ruud). Rumi adored Shams; he worshiped him as if he was God. Rumi was a dedicated disciple to Shams until he left(p) in 1246, leaving Rumi. Shams, spiritual friendship transformed Rumi from a scholarly teacher to mystical poet (Ruud). Throughout Rumis manner he wrote many mystical and ecstatic poems, in fact it is said that most of his poems are about go to sleep.

The different aspects of love that Rumi displays in his poetry, involve the hand one will make for love, the efforts it takes to love, enhancement of oneself due to love, and the fiddling things in love. In addition, the critics write about how Rumis philosophies of love have made him such an important figure of love.
