Steinbeck shows a close relationship between George and Lennie that is introduced in chapter one. George and Lennie have contrasting personalities and are physically and mentally opposites, the first physical description for George is small and quick, nighted of face, with restless eyes, and sharp, salubrious features and behind him walked his Opposite Lennie, huge man, uncrystallised of a face, with large, pale eyes, with wide, sloping shoulders. Steinbeck often uses similes to make Lennie seem like an animal, dragged his feet a little the way a bear drags his paws and douse his big paw in the water he compares Lennie to trinity strong animals, this tells us that he is very physically strong and maybe creates foreboding as later on in the novel he does damage his strength.

The first thing George says is obese Lennie off for drinking out of the green pool, this immediately tells us who is the father figure and that George takes care of Lennie and he is aware that Lennie need him. Lennie is used to George taking the lead and telling him what to do; he does not exercise independence of expression or thought. George is of all time the dominant one and always makes the decisions, for example in chapter one, he orders Lennie not to say anything to the boss when they arrive at their new...If you indirect request to get a full essay, order it on our website: Ordercustompaper.com
